Google Docs & Spreadsheets is the web-based service that is described as the Microsoft Office rival that will represent the main solution included in the Google suite. Because it is so important, the Google employees avoid neglecting the product and are trying to improve it periodically to make it more powerful. The best example is represented by today's update that affects the interface displayed just after the login and that is now providing instant access to the documents created within the solution. From those new menus,
you're able to organize and manage all the documents created by you, no matter if they were made in collaboration with somebody or just by you on your own.
In addition, you're able to create your own folders to sort the documents, flag them with a star or move to trash to remove a file from the listings.
"Now when you sign in to Docs & Spreadsheets, you'll see a brand new interface that lets you create personal folders, and drag your online documents and spreadsheets into them. On the left-hand side, you'll see a list of all the people you are collaborating with; click on any name to see all the files you're working on with them," Vanessa Krumb, Account Strategist at Google, said today.
Also, the parent company Google implemented a new feature in the search technology of Docs & Spreadsheets, offering suggestions as you type. Obviously, the suggestions are shown depending on the files stored in your account so, more documents, more suggestions. "If you've ever tried Google Suggest, you know how cool it is when a search engine offer suggestions as you type. Google Docs & Spreadsheets now works the same way," Ron Schneider, Technical Lead, Google Docs & Spreadsheets, added.
If you want to use Google Docs & Spreadsheets, you can access it for free with your Google account that is also compatible with numerous other products powered by the Mountain View company.
