
Google has managed to acquire the rights to a new searching algorithm, which could revolutionize, once again, the way in which users surf the Internet.
The tool is created by a University of NSW student from Australia and his supervisor and is bound to embrace a new concept. Instead of finding
only Internet pages with the specified keywords and links to them, the new algorithm also provides users with text fragment containing the keyword.
This innovation eliminates the need of going back and forward in the browser to check the results'accuracy and improves the Internet experience.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Ori Allon is an Israeli 26-year-old researcher who came in the '90s to study at the Monash University. After completing his bachelor and masters degrees, he moved to UNSW to further his studies and research.
The same Australian newspaper said that the university also was in talks with Microsoft and Yahoo, but that Allon ended up at Google.
The Mountain View company's latest acquisitions were Upstartle, the team behind the Writely online Office suite, and @Last Software, responsible for the SketchUp 3D application.
