The news comes as a result of a mistake

Blogger, the Mountain View-based company's blog service, might be one of the most used blog services around the world. As a Google user, you can use your Gmail account in order to register and login to the Blogger webpage. After login, you have to follow a three-step preliminary setup of your personal blog page, which will enable access to a full setup of your blog page.

Overall, the Blogger service provides users with a clean and easy to use interface, offering them the means by which they can configure specific areas of their blog page. Some users, which are already used to Google's blog service, might have recently noticed a new feature while editing their "Configure Blog Post". While this was not something they had been previously informed of, the "Show Star Rating" appeared as a new feature enabled by Google for its users.

According to the Blogger Status, a site developed to keep Blogger users informed of various upgrades or issues: "Some users may be seeing star ratings on their posts without having opted in to this new feature. This is an experimental feature that was accidentally enabled on some users' blogs. We're currently working to remove star ratings on all affected blogs. In the future, you'll be able to choose to opt-in to this feature; it won't appear automatically." It seems that the five-star rating was just a fluke available only on a number of blog accounts. A later edit of the post on Blogger Status has established that Star Rating feature had been disabled on all of the affected accounts.

This new feature, of which we happened to find out because of a fluke, is said to become available in the future for all Blogger users. However, this time, the users will be presented with the choice of whether they want to make use of it or not. Although it was brought to the users' attention by mistake, it is clear that Google is working on this new feature, trying to enhance the users' experience.
