Dear Fedora fans, we are sorry to announced today that the Fedora 13 (Goddard) Linux distribution will reach end of life (EOL) next Friday, on June 24th, 2011.

Dubbed Goddard, the Fedora 13 operating system was released on May 25th, 2010. It was powered by Linux kernel 2.6.32 and it introduced features such as enhanced init system, topology awareness, color management, SystemTap static probes, Mozilla Firefox 3.6, Nvidia 3D support, and KDE SC 4.4.

Today, June 13th, we are officially announcing that starting with June 24th (next Friday), users of the Fedora 13 (Goddard) operating system will no longer receive security/critical fixes and software updates.

Therefore, all Fedora 13 users are urged to upgrade to the most recent version, Fedora 15, as soon as possible. For detailed upgrade instructions, please see http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DistributionUpgrades.

"Fedora 13 will reach end of life on 2011-06-24, and no further updates will be pushed out after that time. Additionally, with the recent release of Fedora 15, no new packages will be added to the Fedora 13 collection." - said Kevin Fenzi in yesterday's announcement.

About Fedora

The Fedora Project is a Red-Hat-sponsored and community-supported open-source project. Fedora Linux is an operating system based on the Linux kernel, which focuses on wide access, distribution and free modification.

Fedora Linux is built by a worldwide community (the Fedora Project), which grants access to anyone wishing to further advance the development of open-source software. Fedora 10 is available as GNOME and KDE Live CD editions for 32bit and 64bit platforms, and the usual CDs/DVD edition for x86, x86_64 and PPC architectures.
