Windows Phone fans who own Nokia Lumia smartphones that lack microSD card slot, as well as those who prefer to have everything stored in the cloud for safety reasons, will be pleased to know that Microsoft has just announced that it will double the free cloud storage space.

New OneDrive users who have purchased a Windows Phone handset currently receive 7.5GB of free could storage, but Microsoft has confirmed that it has doubled the amount.

This means that beginning next month, Windows Phone users should expect to receive a total amount of 15GB base free cloud storage. Obviously, the amount can be increased by referring friends to the service, so all is good.

But there’s more good news for OneDrive users. Microsoft has just confirmed that it has dropped storage prices by more than 70%. So, Windows Phone users who feel they need a lot more cloud storage than what’s offered for free will now be able to get more at a more affordable price.

For example, those who want only 100GB of cloud storage will only have to pay $1.99 (previously $7.49), whereas 200GB will cost just $3.99 (previously $11.49).

Basically, this means that Windows Phone users shouldn’t be afraid that they will run out of storage space anymore, as Microsoft has them covered. Do you like the new OneDrive offer from Microsoft?
