Company making iPhone knockoff plans to ban iPhone 5 sales in China

Here’s one that will knock you right out of commission. Remember the GooPhone I5 that bore an uncanny resemblance to the leaked iPhone 5 prototypes? Well, the manufacturers are planning to sue Apple because they’ve patented the design of the handset ahead of them.

Yes, you read that right. Not only does the goon-phone copy every design aspect of Apple’s previous iPhones, but even its underlying software looks like iOS. Apple has patented the heck out of these things. Where does this company get off?

Believe it or not, there’s more. They actually want to ban the sales of Apple’s iPhone 5 in China, citing design similarities. No offense goophone.hk, but Samsung themselves had to cough up a billion in US currency over far less gruesome design similarities.

We wouldn’t want to cast any predictions (stranger things have happened, I guess), but if this thing unfolds as speculated by gizchina.com, the world as we know it may be coming to an abrupt end.
