The first major awards gala of the award season, which has just begun and will end with the Academy Awards in a few weeks’ time, has just wrapped up. As usual, the Golden Globes 2014 celebrated excellency in film and television, honoring actors, directors, screenwriters, and music composers for their work.

Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, the Golden Globes were hosted by good friends and hilarious duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, reprising their hosting duties for the second time in a row. They still killed it, of course.

In film, “12 Years a Slave” took home the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama, but it lost in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama to Matthew McConaughey for his work in “Dallas Buyers Club.”

However, the big winner of the night was “American Hustle,” taking home 3 awards, for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical (Amy Adams) and Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Jennifer Lawrence).

It looks like the 2014 awards season is going to be just as busy as the previous one for Lawrence, though whether she can replicate last year’s Oscars win remains to be seen.

For those of you rooting for Leonardo DiCaprio, of whom fans say the Academy has been ignoring because he’s too young to get an Oscar yet, he took home a Golden Globe for his work in “Wolf of Wall Street,” his latest collaboration with director Martin Scorsese, the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.

In television, the biggest winner of the night was the now-defunct series “Breaking Bad,” with Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul as a science teacher turned meth cook and drug lord and his loyal sidekick, respectively.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and the HBO Liberace biopic “Behind the Candelabra,” with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, also took home two awards each.

Below is the complete list of winners in both film and television. Check it out to see if your favorite made the cut.
