Star looked fabulous in a Dior dress and plenty of diamonds and emeralds

Jennifer Lawrence added another award to her already impressive collection during the Golden Globes 2014, the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, but she also almost lost one of the diamond bracelets she had been given to wear for the big night.

The star, looking divine in a very simple white Dior dress, accessorized with dangling emerald earrings and chunky diamond bracelets, one of which fell off her wrist during a red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest, as the video below will confirm.

She almost freaked out, deciding to keep it in her hand until she could have someone put it back on and make sure it wasn’t broken, which was a smart move on her part.

Celebrities almost never wear their own jewels on the red carpet, especially at such major awards as this one – as neither do they wear their own clothes. Instead, they’re being sent designer pieces, with the obvious implication that the bigger the star the bigger the designer, and the more fabulous and expensive the pieces.

All that the stars have to do is talk about what they’re wearing (both in terms of fashion and accessories) with the press. All the items are returned after the ceremony.

On certain occasions, when the items offered for the big night are too expensive, they even come with their own bodyguard, who joins the star’s regular security team for the duration of the event.

One female star, for instance, can wear upwards of a couple of millions of dollars in diamonds alone and, seeing that Jennifer’s wrist was crammed with bracelets, it’s not that far-fetched to assume that not one of those pieces was made with glass, colored or otherwise.

This would explain the panic and why she wanted to make sure the bracelet wasn’t broken before putting it back on because, while all items are insured before being rolled out on the red carpet, celebrities will have to pay for them if they get lost. That bracelet alone probably costs more than a house.

Luckily, Ryan Seacrest was paying attention.
