Star wins Best Actress in Musical or Comedy, gloats over beating Meryl Streep

It’s not every day that you get to brag about beating Meryl Streep at the Golden Globes, so Jennifer Lawrence didn’t miss such an opportunity at last night’s awards gala. Check out her acceptance speech above.

Prefaced by an awesome introduction by SNL favorites Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell, Jennifer’s win got her so emotional that, at certain moments, she was struggling to find her words.

She did remember though to say, “What does [the award] say? I beat Meryl!”

She went on to thank the cast and director of “Silver Linings Playbook,” her representation, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and her family, who believed in her when absolutely no one else would.

Wiig and Ferrell’s intro also deserves several thumbs up: never before has a more charismatic and funnier pair of presenters taken to the Golden Globe stage. Also, Tommy Lee Jones’ reaction to their jokes is priceless!

Enjoy.
