Golden Globes 2012: Kate Winslet Goes Public with Ned Rocknroll

At Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony, British actress Kate Winslet ended weeks of speculation on her love life by going public with her latest beau Ned Rocknroll, planting a kiss on his lips just as she got up to make her acceptance speech.

Since her much-mediated divorce from Sam Mendes, Kate's love life has turned into a genuine point of attraction for the tabloids.

She dated model Louis Dowler for a while and then, quite out of a sudden, broke it off with him and reportedly started seeing Ned Rocknroll.

Until the other night at the prestigious awards, she hadn't said anything to confirm or deny the rumors, though she'd been photographed a couple of times with him.

Kate posed for pictures alone on the red carpet, thus avoiding the media frenzy that would have undoubtedly started had she made an entrance on the arm of the nephew of Sir Richard Branson.

However, when she went up to receive her award for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Movie for the role in “Mildred Pierce,” she left no room for doubt anymore about the state of their relationship, as Metro also points out.

When her name was called out, she leaned in for a kiss from Ned, thus setting the record straight: it's true, they are an item.

Kate's speech was, as always, very passionate, touching and yet incredible humble at the same time, offering yet one more reason for fans to love her desperately.

First off, she thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for “putting me in a category with heavyweight actresses that I am honored to stand alongside,” as the video below will show.

Somewhat out of breath, either because of the surprise win or because of the stairs she had to climb to get to her award, Kate didn't forget to mention the entire team on “Mildred Pierce” either.

She thanked the producers for “giving me this part, thank you for giving me this experience,” the lights people, the costume staff and the entire acting team working on the show.

As expected, Kate also thanked her family.

“I share this with my beautiful children Mia and Joe who light up my life every day. I am so proud to be their mum and I share this with them,” she said.
