Video game publisher Activision Blizzard has announced a new content linked to Cabela's Big Game Hunter, which will offer a prize of 50,000 dollars (close to 37,000 Euro) to one lucky gamer in the United States who can find a hidden golden buck in the game world.

Players need to play through the Story Mode of the new hunting video game and find the golden buck.

They then need to get in front of the screen and take a clear picture of the situation and then complete a form on the official Facebook page of the title, including the sweepstakes registration code that was packaged with their copy of Cabela's Big Game Hunter.

Each player can only submit one entry using one code and only gamers in the United States can enter the competition.

Those who plan to enter the Golden Buck competition need to find the mystical beast before 12:00 PM on October 25 of this year and a winner will be drawn at random from those who enter on November 1.

It's interesting to note that even though Big Game Hunter is focused on stalking and killing an assortment of animals players do not need to put a bullet into the Golden Buck in order to get into the competition.

Cabela's Big Game Hunter can be played on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the Nintendo Wii.

Recently a number of video game launches are supported by competitions with quite significant money prizes.

Electronic Arts has announced that it is working with Virgin Gaming on tournaments for both the FIFA 12 football simulation and for the DICE made first person shooter Battlefield 3.

Valve went one step further and launched a tournament for pro-teams that gave out 1 million dollars in prizes when it unveiled DOTA 2 at the Gamescom trade event.
