Diamonds might have been a girl's best friends back in the days of Marilyn Monroe, but ladies in this day and age roll with one totally different crew. Or at least this is what Kentucky for Kentucky would like to get them to do.

Long story short, the US-based company, together with designer Meg C, has created a new line of jewelry that comprises necklaces made from actual KFC chicken bones covered in a nice and shiny layer of gold.

The bad news is that, as detailed on Kentucky for Kentucky's website, there really aren't all that many gold-plated chicken bone necklaces to go around. At least not for the time being.

Thus, the company says that, after smashing about 25 KFC chicken wings, designer Meg C only managed to recover enough bones to make 20 necklaces. Otherwise put, those who want one should hurry up and get it.

The limited edition 14 karate gold-plated chicken bone pieces of jewelry are scheduled to become available for purchase this June 27, at precisely 10 a.m. local time, Kentucky for Kentucky writes on its website.

Whereas the smaller of the bunch are to sell for $130 (about €95), it looks like folks who are thinking about acquiring a large KFC chicken bone necklace will have to cough out $150 (roughly €110). Not at all surprisingly, the company claims the necklaces are well worth the money.

In case there are folks worried that their wardrobe might not be worthy of these necklaces, designer Meg C stresses that her golden chicken bone pieces of jewelry go with just about everything, be it jeans or evening gowns.

“You can rock your chicken bone with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or your little black dress, that’s the great thing about gold, it makes any outfit look fabulous. And don’t chicken bones just go with everything?” the designer says.

What's more, Kentucky for Kentucky has also come up with the perfect reply for when people question you about the thing hanging around your neck. “When asked about your fab new necklace, you can simply respond, ‘It Ain’t No Thang But A Little Gold Chicken Wang,’” the company explains.

For those worried about the fact that the necklaces might release a scent that would clash with their perfume, the company reassures that, before being turned into jewelry, the bones were carefully washed with soap and water and then subjected to various procedures. Hence, they have no smell.
