If gold represents your utmost notion of luxury and this metal's mellow shine is what you've been craving for around you, maybe the latest creation from Gold Acoustic, the GA Star, is your game. We're talking about a sound system that screams its unadulterated, pure and opulent display of luxury, in complete dissonance with the world recession on everybody's lips these days. At the same time, if you're filthy rich and by any chance looking for a new way to shock your friends and visitors with something one doesn't see everyday, then the GA Star should definitely be on your shopping list.

The GA Star audio system is a three-piece array of speakers: two tall floorstanding towers and a subwoofer. The first thing that will draw anyone's attention is the gold-plated cabinetry, with the lustrous mirror-like finish, looking truly opulent.

These speakers are entirely hand-crafted and, thanks to this manufacturing process, the quality of their finish and overall make are impeccable and well-worthy to complement the most luxurious decors you'd ever dream about. The towers are loaded with Lowther drivers: included in a down-firing bass reflex enclosure, the EX2 Hi-Ferric drivers are placed in an upwards-firing position. At the top of the floorstanders, a gold mirror-finished piece of acoustic brass plays the role of a sound deflector, helping the drivers disperse their high-quality response across the room.

The GA Earth subwoofer sports a frontal, flared, round bass reflex port, spiked feet for excellent decoupling from the floor and an increased sonic accuracy. The LF unit boasts a 45-140 Hz frequency response, while the towers will reach 40 Hz deep and 20 kHz in the high frequency range. With a nominal impedance between 8 and 15 Ohms, these speakers pack a nifty 100 dB sensitivity and will handle a power up to 100W, the same power rating the GA Earth has. There is no word on pricing, but nobody expects anything else than “very expensive” on the back of the price tag.
