One of the surprise appearances at this year’s Comic-Con convention in San Diego was “Godzilla,” which got a first teaser poster and trailer. Not much is known about the film, but a release date for it has just been announced.

Those who did not see the trailer at Comic-Con will have to wait a lot longer for their first look at the film, Slash Film reports.

It won’t be out until May 16, 2014, which means chances are a first trailer won’t be out until the end of the year.

Moreover, “Godzilla” will be in 3D, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have announced. Whether it will be shot in 3D or converted in post-production remains to be seen.

“Godzilla” is directed by Gareth Edwards, who said at the aforementioned event that he planned to make a “realistic” film and not so much a sci-fi one.
