New interesting video service

YouTube is again the source of inspiration for multiple Christian pastors, preachers and missionaries after they decided to build their own version of YouTube entitled GodTube. The online video service is based on the same technology as Google's YouTube, providing numerous clips on Christian matters. One of the founders, Chris Wyatt, is a student at the Dallas Theological Seminary and he plans to officially release the product in May according to KSL.

"You have 20- and 30- and 40-something Christians around the world who have put together videos for their youth group or for their church, and now what they're doing is they're sharing them with the world. In the last five days, we've broadcast over 14 weeks of television programming. Without any marketing whatsoever, all of a sudden, people started coming to the site", explains GodTube Co-Founder and CEO Chris Wyatt.

This is the second YouTube rival in two weeks after Microsoft announced a partnership with NBC and News Corporation to provide one of the most powerful online video sharing services ever created and able to challenge the Google solution. Although they didn't announce an official date for the release, the product is expected this year so YouTube must prepare for a massive assault over its visitors.

In the past, YouTube proved that is able to attract users even after other companies allied against the search giant and planned massive attacks over its image. Take the example of Viacom, the owner of MTV and Comedy Central that ordered the company to remove almost 100.000 clips from the page because the company didn't pay for the content it receives. Although the removal was quite important, YouTube sustained its number of visitors was boosted just after the Viacom decision was officially confirmed.
