A lot of PlayStation 3 users must be eagerly waiting for the release of God of War III, as all indications are that the title will close up the saga of Kratos, while delivering more action and more thrills than the previous two installments in the series that made it to all the Sony gaming platforms.
Sony must be very interested in getting the level of excitement up, considering that it badly needs blockbuster exclusives in order to bring up sales of the rather troubled PS3.
The above reasons might explain why very interesting images related to the game have begun to emerge; even if the release date is about one year away (God of War titles are released in March, as a rule). The image that accompanies this article has been created by Cecil Kim, who is one of the concept artists working on
God of War III.
The image shows a Titan, an ancient being of the Greek mythology, which draws its power from fire, and a close look shows a Kratos-like figure lost somewhere in the background, probably offered in order to get a sense of how big the Titan will be in the game. He seems to dwarf the size of all we've seen in the previous games of the series.
Sony said that the last game in the
God of War series would start just after the end of the second one and that Kratos would have a chance to get his revenge on the Gods that had wronged him. The mythology background tells us that Titans and Gods have fought for the control of Olympus; so, Kratos will probably use these ancient creatures, like this fiery one, to bring down the Pantheon. More of these images will probably appear as Sony is interested in offering more information on what could be one of the most important titles of 2010.
