A brand new report has appeared online claiming that the recent God of War: Ascension hack and slash title from Sony Santa Monica will be released onto the PlayStation 4 in a remastered edition in the near future.

Sony's PS4 is doing really well in terms of sales, and the Japanese company is trying to make sure that the millions of console owners have enough games to play, whether they're all-new triple-A experiences, like Infamous: Second Son, or smaller independent projects, like the recent Mercenary Kings.

Now, in the midst of rumors about the company's upcoming E3 2014 announcements, a new report has appeared, claiming that God of War: Ascension, last year's PS3 game, will be released for the PlayStation 4 as a remastered experience.

The rumor comes from insider Shinboi602, who writes on Twitter that, even if it's not very exciting, God of War: Ascension is going to debut for the PS4 soon.

No other details were given so, it's unclear if Sony will launch a straight-up port of the PS3 game with a full HD 1080p resolution or if it's going to add different things to the experience, such as all the downloadable content that was released for its multiplayer.

Expect to hear more about it in the near future.
