Take a look at how it looks like to be inside a water orb

So what do you do when you’re an astronaut in space? You fool around a little bit while doing science, of course. The no-gravity thing has surely inspired space travelers to pull a lot of kooky stunts.

Like the one you can see in the video below, where NASA astronauts played a prank on a GoPro camera and trapped it in an orb of water. Then let it float around the space station.

The video shows how it “feels” to be trapped inside a water bubble, while offering glimpses at the camera inside its “prison.”

The “experiment” took place on the International Space Station, where scientists and astronauts were toying around with the concept of water tension as experienced in a microgravity environment.

European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst and NASA’s Steve Swanson and Reid Wiseman are responsible for putting together this funny video you’re going to see below.

Even if NASA has just posted the clip on its YouTube page, the whole affair took place during Expedition 40, which unfolded this summer.

Note that there’s a 3D version of the video, but you’ll need red-blue stereoscopic 3D vision glasses to really see the mini-clip how it was intended to be seen.
