Go Right ahead, Honey: Jessica Simpson Wants to Strip for Movie Part

I always suspected Jessica Simpson was not a very smart lady (and I'm not just saying that because she's blonde, occasionally hot and a walking disaster) but now I have confirmation. And I'm very pleased with this particular piece of news, because not only does it prove that Jessica's dumb (if you'll pardon my rough vocabulary), it also makes quite a convincing point about her being a hypocrite, too. And when I say "her" I also mean her father who's quite happy to whore out his daughter and play matchmaker, but doesn't feel comfortable seeing her strip for a movie part.

You see, professional actors - I mean the really, really good actors - do strip occasionally. Remember Halle Berry's infamous sex scene with Billy Bob Thornton in Monster's Ball? It wasn't pretty, it was messy and sweaty and rough, but it was absolutely brilliant and it sure helped Halle go home with an Oscar under her belt. Not for Jessica, though - even if the blonde singer/actress seems to really, really believe that the best way to earn respect and credibility as an actress is to strip for a movie role. Honey, I'm sorry to break it to you, but it takes a lot more than that, otherwise all the strippers in Hollywood would be best-selling actresses.

"Jessica is in the running for a role that, if she gets it, will put her right on the map in terms of acting. The only hitch is that the script requires a number of quite graphic scenes including a full-frontal nude scene. Jessica is so desperate to land the role and get the industry's respect that she's ready to go against her better judgment, and her family, by agreeing to bare all" said a source. Well, yes, as I was saying before - if you're after the Oscar, I'm afraid you need to do a little more than just strip. Just a lill' bit.

I probably should have underlined the word 'family' in that last quote, and we all know what that means. Papa Joe stepped in and refused to let his little angel strip. "The last script that came to us was for Jessica to be a porn star. We were promised we would win an Oscar with that. I told them, 'I think we'll just buy a statue of a little man and keep our clothes on'" the singer's manager dad was quoted as saying earlier this year. I understand, it's all about Jess being a righteous little girl and all... the part in which he was setting up dates for her and picking out the best-looking guys for the sake of publicity doesn't count, right? Well, better call the people who write the Webster dictionary, 'cause I think "hypocrisy" just acquired a whole new meaning.
