GnuCash, a personal and small-business financial/accounting software, freely licensed under GNU GPL and available for GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows platforms, is now at version 2.4.9.

GnuCash 2.4.9 introduced a couple of important fixes, one of which was quite a nuisance for users that were also utilizing SQL.

The infamous “Bug 666329” manifested itself by emptying the database after a little while or by indicating the book object itself has been edited or that some object in the dataset has been changed.

Users are asked now to use "gnc_dbi_safe_sync_all" (which doesn't lose data if the save partion errors out) for all "be->syn". Even though it's not a proper solution, it will resolve the issues until the problem is solved definitively.

The second bug fixed by the GnuCash developers was related to “FileSaveAction” option, which now is no longer sensitive when the session is dirty.
