Google offers quite a solid experience on the mobile front, at least when it comes to email. Gmail for mobile makes ample use of HTML5 to provide one with the best email experience on such a small screen. The mobile site was recently adapted for the Apple iPad and now it's getting a new feature, which regular Gmail users have had for a couple of months now, Google Buzz. Anyone visiting gmail.com on an iPhone or Android device will get the new version of the site with Buzz integration.

"With the latest iteration of Gmail for mobile, we’ve worked to integrate buzz with your mobile inbox. Now, you’ll see buzz in your inbox on your phone just like you do in the desktop version of Gmail, complete with the little Google Buzz icon. When you open a buzz post from your inbox, you can perform all the standard functions, such as liking the post or commenting, just as you can from the desktop Gmail inbox," Alex Kennberg, software engineer at Google Mobile, announced.

When Google Buzz launched, not to overwhelming success as the company had hoped, it came bundled with Gmail to spur fast early adoption. The plan worked, millions of people started using Buzz in the first few days, but the thing backfired when many complained about the privacy issues surrounding Buzz.

Mobile users didn't get Buzz in their email inboxes, they had to visit a separate site over at buzz.google.com to make a post. Part of the Buzz conversation was available in Gmail for mobile as well, but it was incomplete. Google has now brought Gmail for mobile on par with the regular Gmail web app with the Buzz integration. Users will see a Buzz tab on top of the app and also the Buzz logo indicating how many unread messages they have. They will be able to view any Buzz message and comment on it.
