Google announced on Tuesday that users of an Android-based mobile phone or an iPhone would be able to enjoy an enhanced experience while accessing Gmail and Calendar through their mobile device browser, due to the fact that there are some new features that were added to the equation.

It seems that the user interface of Gmail has been improved so as to “make it easier to message on the go.” The look and feel of the messages has been improved, labels are easier to read, and the search menu has been moved into the top header. In addition, users will be able to enjoy a new “Floaty Bar,” which is meant to provide users with fast access to common actions such as archive and delete when they are browsing through their inboxes. At the same time, even when offline, users will be able to start the application and compose mail, and even open recently read messages.

The new Calendar is able to provide users with the possibility to edit or respond to an event. In addition, they will also be able to access the application even at times when they do not have an Internet connection, the same as they would do with Gmail. Aside from the new improvements brought to the application, it seems that, in the future, support for more languages is expected to be added to Google Calendar.

Users who would like to enjoy fast navigation between Gmail and Calendar or other mobile applications will be able to do so by taking advantage of the classic links that can be seen now on top of the screen at all times. Additionally, the “more” menu will offer access to the entire list of applications. More information on the new features available with Gmail and Calendar can be found on the Google Mobile Blog. The video below provides a glimpse at what has been added.
