PC World created a long-awaited top, codenamed The 100 Best Products of 2007, that reveals some interesting aspects concerning the two Internet giants Google and Yahoo. According to the top, Yahoo Mail is placed on the 27th position while Gmail received only the 31 place. "Its Ajax interface makes it the closest yet to Outlook in your browser--without the security holes," PC World describes the Sunnyvale company's product. "Whether in storage capacity, searchability, or raw speed, Google's Gmail feels like e-mail without limits," it is mentioned about the search giant's product.

Obviously, the competition between the two products is very important for both users and the companies because they are able to attract more or less customers. A recent study revealed that Yahoo Mail is currently the most popular mail solution on the Internet while Gmail is only the third being beaten by the famous Hotmail. Microsoft also improved Hotmail recently and renamed it to Windows Live Hotmail, making it more competitive for its rivals. However, Gmail might look as the favorite solution for the battle but, even if it is improved periodically with exciting features, it is still being the rival Yahoo Mail.

Today, the Mountain View company debuted a new important update for Gmail, allowing the users to attach files up to 20 MB. This way, you're now able to send larger attachments but only to other Gmail accounts as most of the mail solutions are not supporting this size for the files. Yahoo Mail is currently offering only 10 MB for the attached files while Yahoo Mail China is also giving 20 MB. However, the winner of the battle might be decided by the security of the services, both of them being accused for the weaknesses discovered in the filters. Recently, Gmail also proved us that it can be vulnerable too because numerous spam messages invaded our inboxes, the emails being sent right from other Gmail accounts.
