Good news for Gmail users, as Google has just updated its Android email client with some of the features promised in the not so distant past.

Those who don't remember, Google confirmed several weeks ago that it would remove the “show pictures” message from above each email content and would allow Gmail users to see these pictures by default.

Today, the folks over at AndroidPolice report that a new version of Gmail is now available for download via Google Play Store, which adds exactly the feature promised by Google.

Once updated to the latest version, Gmail users will no longer need to tap the “show pictures” message to see the email's content. In fact, that message has been removed entirely.

For the time being, there's no telling if there are other changes included in this update, but we will keep an eye out for any additional info on this one.

You can now download Gmail for Android 4.7.2 for free via Google Play store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.
