Google has just released a new version of Gmail on Play Star, one week after it delivered a major update for the email client. The latest version comes with a handful of visual and under the hood changes that will make user experience much smoother.

First of all, Google announced Gmail for Android features a fresh new look, so those who already have the application installed will notice these changes at first glance, immediately after applying the update.

In addition, developers confirmed they have improved sync and outbox behavior and there's a new tweak included that turns contact photos into checkboxes when selected.

You can now download Gmail for Android 4.7.1 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind the application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
