One of the first publishers of 3D social mobile games for smartphones and tablets, Glu Mobile has recently announced its collaboration with Full Fathom Five, the publishing company of best-selling author James Frey

The creator of 'I Am Number Four' novel, which was New York Times bestseller for 7 weeks, James Frey will work closely with Glu Mobile on the creation of at least four original scenarios during the two-year agreement.

We are thrilled to announce this groundbreaking partnership with James and Full Fathom Five,” said Niccolo de Masi, CEO of Glu.

Glu and James Frey have a shared vision for the future of mobile and transmedia digital entertainment. We look forward to developing compelling original content which will be published across different media. Properties will begin as novels and games on smartphones and tablets, with potential expansions for the most successful creations into television and film.”

According to the agreement, Glu Mobile hopes to develop and publish James Frey's stories, which will be written as action-adventure novels.

The first step of collaboration implies the release of some kind of “transmedia content” created by Glu and Full Fathom Five, that fans will be able to take advantage of, as both social mobile games and novels.

I'm thrilled to be working with Glu, an incredible company that makes incredible games. Partnerships like this one are going to be a big part of the future of storytelling and gaming,” said Frey.

Before his 'I Am Number Four' series success, James Frey was already a known writer for his best-sellers A Million Little Pieces, My Friend Leonard, as well as Bright Shiny Morning.

The Full Fathom Five was founded by Frey himself in 2009 as a “young adult novel publishing company” with the aim to create commercial concept novels like 'Twilight'.
