Leading global publisher of mobile games Glu Mobile Inc. today announced officially that it would come up with a series of titles for the new Windows Phone 7 operating system from Microsoft.

According to the company, it is one of the selected Microsoft partners for the launch of the new OS flavor, and it plans on releasing games for Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone 7 in the near future.

“To be chosen to be part of the Launch Wave for the WP7 platform is incredible,” said Adam Flanders, general manager, Glu.

“We are excited to bring our simply addictive mobile games to Microsoft devices. We can deliver an authentic experience in a new era of gaming by reaching a vast audience of mobile gamers around the world with these new devices.”

Mobile phone users choosing Windows Phone 7 devices this year should enjoy at least two titles from Glu Mobile, namely Guitar Hero 5 and Glyder.

Here's what the game publisher has to say on these titles:

- Guitar Hero 5: Prepare to rock out on your phone with the mobile edition of Activision Publishing, Inc.’s popular music-rhythm game. Play guitar, drums or bass on up to 20 of the hottest rock ‘n’ roll songs. - Glyder: Adventure Worlds: Guide the game’s heroine, Eryn, and her unique handmade glider on a quest to explore and unlock new lands. Perform fun, gliding maneuvers like power dives and dolphining, and harness thermals to soar high into the sky.

The company already has a wide range of mobile games available for various operating systems out there, and should add more titles to its portfolio in the near future.

Other leading game developers also announced plans to support the launch of Windows Phone 7, which is expected to take place as soon as next month.
