E-Ten, the Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer, announced that it will showcase its latest mobile phone, Glofiish V900, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, between 11th and 14th February 2008.

Presented with the slogan "Enjoy Live TV on the move", the new Glofiish V900 appears on the official E-Ten website, but only a few details about its features are given. However, we can see how the handset looks like and, at a first glance, it brings a HTC in mind. Glofiish V900 offers mobile TV functionality, as it's packed with DVB-H, T-DMB, terrestrial TV support via DVB-T and also digital radio over DAB. The phone relies on a powerful Samsung 667 MHz processor and 128MB of RAM and most probably runs on Windows Mobile 6, hence coming with all the office and internet related features. We can't tell if it has a touchscreen display or it packs a sliding QWERTY keyboard, but chances are high that both assumptions are correct.

Unfortunately, the US market will probably never see the Glofiish V900 since the TV standards that the phone works on are not supported in North America. Therefore, V900 will be available only in Europe and Asia for a price that was not mentioned until now.

Beside the V900 TV phone, the Mobile World Congress will also get a piece of the VGA Glofiish X650 Pocket PC from E-Ten, officially announced a few days ago. Formerly known as the 3GSM World Congress or simply "3GSM", the Mobile World Congress is the world's most important exhibition for the mobile industry, so we should expect many new high-end phones from all the important manufacturers to be showcased there. It's just a few weeks away, so all we have to do is wait a bit.
