Glofiish DX900, X900 and X610 Unveiled

Three new Pocket PCs from E-Ten

E-Ten, the Taiwan-based handset manufacturer, has unveiled three of its new Pocket PCs: Glofiish DX900, Glofiish X900 and Glofiish X610, all of them working on the latest Windows Mobile and being currently showcased at the Computex fair from Taipei (June 3 - 7).

Details about Glofiish DX900 first appeared on the Web a few weeks ago, when we also saw a small picture with the handset. Well, we now have a clear image with the DX900, plus the certainty that it's a really nice device, as it has won the "Best Choice" award at Computex. The highlights of Glofiish DX900 include a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with 480 x 640 pixels and 65K colors (like HTC's Touch Diamond), a 3D user interface, quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, built-in GPS and a 3 Megapixel auto-focus photo camera. Moreover, the DX900 is said to be the first handset to come with dual-SIM capabilities as well as worldwide GSM and 3G connectivity. This will allow its owners to use two SIM cards at the same time, a GSM and a 3G one, with the possibility of receiving calls on both of them.

For the moment, E-Ten did not announce the retail price of Glofiish DX900 or the date when it will hit the market, but we should expect the new Pocket PC to be available until the end of this summer.

Glofiish X900 is another Pocket PC with pretty nice features and an attractive look (it resembles the DX900 in both aspects). Its features include the same 2.8 TFT touchscreen display with a VGA resolution, a 3D UI, built-in GPS, GSM and 3G connectivity, VoIP calling capabilities and so on.

Glofiish X610 wants to be an affordable Pocket PC, hence it doesn't bring as many features as the aforementioned models. Even so, it does have GPS and the same 3D user interface, plus a 240 x 320 pixel touchscreen display and GSM connectivity with EDGE.

As in the case of DX900, the prices and release dates of X900 and X610 are unknown yet, but it shouldn't be long before we see them on the market.
