E-Ten will soon be releasing a new high-end Pocket PC, the Glofiish DX900, which comes packed with several features that are pretty hard to come across on a Windows Mobile based device.

According to the Czech website SmartMania, the new DX900 Pocket PC comes with dual-SIM technology, which allows you to use two SIM cards at the same time, just as if you had two mobile devices. Since the DX900 also features quad-band GSM (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz) connectivity, we can say that owners of the new Glofiish will have two mobile phones in one advanced Pocket PC.

Running on Windows Mobile 6.1, Glofiish DX900 packs a 2.8 inch touchscreen display with a VGA (640 x 480) resolution and 65K colors, motion sensor, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, a 3 Megapixel camera with auto focus, secondary video call camera, FM radio and microSD card slot. Furthermore, the new Pocket PC brings a Samsung S3C 6400 processor at 533 MHz, 256MB of ROM, 128MB of RAM and a 1,530 mAh battery that should provide quite long talk and stand-by times.

Glofiish DX900 measures 106 x 60.5 x 17 millimeters and weighs 147 grams - not that much for a Pocket PC. For the moment, it's not clear if the device also features a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, but this will be unveiled in June, during the Computex fair held in Taipei, when E-Ten will first showcase the new Pocket PC.

Based in Taiwan, E-Ten will be acquired in the third quarter of 2008 by Acer, one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world. This will not have any impact on the Glofiish brand, as devices bearing this name will continue to hit the market, the only difference being just that they will (most probably) be even better than what they are now.
