You'd think that only great things would be heard about the tablet market, now that analysts are saying that they will outsell notebooks this year.

As it turns out, that's not actually happening. In fact, the prospects of the slate market for the second quarter are rather bleak.

According to statistics posted by IDC, the tablet shipments for the second quarter of 2013 will be of around 39 million at most.

That's because they will fall by 20-30% from the 49.2 million accumulated during the first quarter of the year.

This information comes from Taiwan-based supply chain makers, who can predict what will come in the future based on orders placed (or not placed) by brand owners.

Everyone, including Apple and Samsung, will see their sales fall between the start of April and the end of June.
