A new Karaoke Revolution has been announced by Konami for the Nintendo Wii. This new installment in the series will be produced in collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, as it will use the license of the very popular television musical series Glee. It is set to launch sometime this fall for “gleeks” everywhere.

Developed by Hijinx Studios, Karaoke Revolution Glee will allow players perform songs from the show alongside characters from the show like Rachel Berry, Finn Hudson and the leader of the Glee club, Will Schuester, as well as the rest of the much loved cast of the show. This entry in the Karaoke Revolution series will be based only on the first season of Glee, as it contains 35 tracks that will also be available in multiplayer, either in harmonic singing or in duet.

Extra content will be unlockable in a special gameplay mode called Scrapbook that will let players experience again their favorite moments from the show. The title uses an Konami's proprietary voice recognition technology, that allows for an accurate detection of how well the gamers perform the songs, but also helps them reach high notes and improve their singing skills through pitch correction.

Kunio Neo, president of Konami Digital Entertainment, said that, “This partnership with Fox is very important to us and we are thrilled to be the first to bring GLEE to a video game console! We plan to elevate the Karaoke Revolution franchise even further by giving fans a chance to pick up the mic and interact with their favorite characters, themes and music from one of the most popular TV franchises to date.” “This partnership also reflects our on-going strategy to develop GLEE as a long-term brand at retail,” added Gary Rosenfeld, senior vice president, new media for Fox Consumer Products.
