“Glee” is back on the small screen, as the much anticipated “The Quarterback” episode, which is a tribute to the character Finn Hudson and the actor playing him, Cory Monteith, just aired. It is being described as the most emotional hour on TV in recent years.

Monteith died this summer of an accidental overdose and the episode was created to address his character’s death as well. Creator Ryan Murphy wanted it as some sort of tribute by everyone who loved Finn.

While the cause of Finn’s death was not make public, the impact it had on his friends and mates was huge. Perhaps the most touching moment of the night was when Monteith’s real-life girlfriend Lea Michele covered Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love.”

Amber Riley’s “I’ll Stand by You” came a close second, if you ask me.

You can see both performances embedded below. As of now, fans are still panting after the very emotional experience because, as the saying goes, the hardest word is goodbye.
