Yesterday night at the top fashion
industry awards celebrities gathered inside the New York Public Library to applaud the winners and admire the fashion collections.
Supermodel Kate Moss, dressed in a nude-colored strapless corset dress with a black lace overlay received an award for her fashion influence, following the steps of previous winners Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman.
"She dresses in a way that means something. What Kate wears, others wear. And it's really Kate choosing it, not a stylist," Peter Arnold, the CFDA's executive director, said
Vera Wang was honored with the year's top womenswear designer "I'm really incredibly honored," Wang said. "Even at my age dreams in life can really come true." The Council of Fashion Designers of America also selected John Varvatos as the best menswear designer
Other celebrities included Joan Allen, Michael Kors, Nicole Ritchie, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Alexandre Plokhov and Lubov Azria.
