Gladius Hints II (PS2)

Gladius is a video game that was created and published by LucasArts.

The game was launched on the PlayStation 2 home console from Sony, the original Xbox from Microsoft and the Game Cube.

It was launched during 2003.

The two heroes are Ursula, who is the daughter of a barbarian king from the land of Nordagh, and Valens, the son of Imperia's greatest gladiator.

The player needs to recruit new gladiators and create the facilities they need in order to develop their skills and win their fights.

As the game progresses, the player gains more influence and has more ways of shaping the destinies of its fighters and of strengthening his position in the gladiator world.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Easy wins

You do not need to use status effects such as Bleeding, Poison, and Blind. The major status effects you should use are Death, Petrify, Stun, and Doom. If you are using a support archer or any range type, use Root, step back and attack. Everything else will not help that much. If you are very skilled, get criticals (the red zone) more than 85% of the time, all you need is a school of centurions and you will be unstoppable.

Caltha: Secret arena

On the right side of Caltha, there is a secret arena (just before the bridge) that only appears at certain times.

Imperia: Hidden encounter

A hidden Imperia encounter can be fought by running around through Imperia at night. On the road leading down to the beach between Caltha and Cro Beska, you will encounter Mutuus walking alone. Get in his way and he will tell you to get out of his way. Get in his way again and he will tell you that this is your final warning. Get in his way a third time and he will tell you that he is going to teach you a lesson.

Before you get in Mutuus' way for the third time, make sure to save the game; any death during this encounter is permanent. You will be taken to a wilderness encounter screen where you will have to fight five Imperials, ranging from Centurions to Murmillos, Peltasts, Samnites and Secutors (any mixture thereof, the selection is random and different every time). Choose your fighters based on countering Mutuus' crew and you will succeed. Your reward is a large amount of experience points.
