Giuly Will Never Play for Domenech's France

Angry for his drop-out from the French squad, Giuly is angry with coach Domenech

French supporters have yet another reason to be sad. After Anelka and Mexes, another incredible player will miss out of the German World Cup this summer. His name is Ludovic Giuly. The Barcelona striker was dropped by coach Raymond Domenech from the squad, giving him no reason whatsoever. And that would not have been a problem normally, but the decision seems more striking since Giuly was one of the most "used" players by Domenech in the qualifying campaign.

"This is the
worst case scenario. I deserve more respect. I wasn't in the initial list of 30 players, not even in the list of 40. I don't know where I am. An explanation in private with the coach would be the least I deserve", said the French striker. He was practically one of the best players for Barca, ever since Messi was injured and left his place vacant in the Catalan first "11".

Not only that, but as France is concerned, Giuly was one of the main reasons why his team reached the WC before Switzerland in the standings, scoring a decisive goal against Cyprus. Clearly disappointed with the coach decision, Giuly said that, from now on, he will refuse to play for "les bleaux" even in case of emergency: "If Domenech need someone to fill out a future injury loss or a situation in which a player cannot play anymore, than he has to deal with it. I won't play for him anymore".

He continued to blast Domenech for his decision: "I fulfilled all of the criteria Raymond Domenech talked about. Experience, accepting to be on the bench, playing for a big club and playing well in big games, not shooting your mouth off...I have done all of those things and that is why I don't understand it at all. It's clear Domenech should reconsider what he says".

France has to find it's way through the group stage in Germany 2006 against Switzerland, Togo and South Koreea, and gain a place in the first knock-out round.
