E! correspondent Giuliana Rancic is already back at work, no less than 2 weeks after double mastectomy. In a statement, Giuliana says the decision to come back was approved by doctors, who told her it would not be rushing her recovery.

Giuliana announced she's been diagnosed with breast cancer in October. At the time, she said the diagnosis was made during a routine checkup before IVF treatment, as she and husband Bill have been trying to get pregnant for quite a while now.

She put IVF on hold and underwent chemo, hoping that it would be enough to eradicate the cancer in her body, as she explained in her first interview to make the shocking announcement.

A little over two weeks ago, Giuliana and Bill made another TV appearance, this time to say that doctors had warned her the cancer could return, unless she had a double mastectomy.

She decided it was the best solution in the long run. She's already back to work, The Hollywood Reporter informs.

“The 37-year-old television host returned to E! on Dec. 27 after having a successful double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery as she continues breast cancer treatment,” the e-zine reports.

After her first day back on the job, Giuliana issued a statement to say the “homecoming” was wonderful and to assure her fans that going back to work had been approved by her doctors.

“I've been feeling better every single day since surgery and this weekend my doctors gave me the green light to get back to work. Even though I moved a tad slower than usual today, everyone welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful homecoming,” she said.

“I wasn't sure whether I was going to return to E! News this week or after the new year. The last thing I wanted to do was rush my recovery,” Giuliana added.

Throughout her battle with cancer, Giuliana and Bill made most details of it public in a bid to help other women understand that prevention is better than treatment, as well as offer assistance to those in the same situation.
