Gitaroo Man is a video game that was developed NiS corporation and was published by KOEI Corporation.
The game was launched exclusively on the PlayStation 2 home gaming console from Sony.
It arrived during the month of February 2002.
The title can be classed as being a music and rhythm game that is being played from a third person perspective.
The plot of the game sees the title character, Gitaroo Man, going up against a number of musically themed villains.
In order for player to win their battles they need to time button presses, in a manner similar to all other titles in the same genre, but also move the analog stick in order to track a line that passes through the center point of an on screen radar circle.
There are a variety of characters, songs and locales included and up to four player can join in and play at the same time using multitap.
At one point this was one of the rarest and hardest to find games for the PS2 but since then the publisher has re-issued it.
