Git, a free and open source distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency, is now at version 1.8.3.3.

Every Git version released so far had a hefty changelog and introduced a huge number of improvements, and this one is no different.

Highlights of Git 1.8.3.3:

• "git submodule" operations are now working on a submodule at a path whose name is not in ASCII; • Logic is now used by git-send-email to suppress cc mishandled names like "A U. Thor" <[email protected]>; • "gitweb" no longer forgets to clear a global variable $search_regexp upon each request; • The wildmatch engine now honors the WM_CASEFOLD option correctly.
