Gisele Bundchen and her husband, Tom Brady, the famous football player, are one step closer to moving in their very own green nest, located in a classy neighborhood in Los Angeles.

Bundchen has made a name for herself mostly due to her modeling career, but also thanks to her contribution as an ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), a role assumed almost three years ago, Earth911 informs.

Therefore, her new house had to be over the top in so many ways, while also displaying a great respect for the environment.

The new residence occupying no less than 22,000-square-foot is supposed to look like a giant high-class hotel, equipped with everything it needs to please even the pickiest guests embracing green values.

Since no house can be considered truly earth-friendly if it is not powered by renewables, Bundchen has decided that her love nest has to have PV panels installed, to minimize its carbon footprint.

Also, energy-efficiency is part of the scheme, helping the super model save some cash and preserve her current favorable reputation, gained after she was named Best Green International Celebrity.

The new position is definitely worth keeping, so Gisele has spent $20 million (€15.4 million) to make sure that her new crib is something worth seeing on MTV.

Apart from the PV array which has become a rather common choice over the last decade, the new mega mansion will also rely on an energy-efficient lightening system and home appliances sharing the same feature, rainwater recycling and construction materials coming from sustainable sources.

The construction of the superb household has started 18 months ago and will soon be completed.

Apart from the eco-friendly improvements highlighted by the mansion, it will also include eight bedrooms, a large pool, an elevator and a wine cellar, enough to make her neighbor, Heidi Klum think about calling a team of decorators to give a new boost to her fabulous home.

After moving in, the stars will definitely be eager to share some more details while bragging about their sustainable improvements and make other pampered celebrities eager to invest more in eco-conscious cribs.
