Just the other day, we were telling you that rumor on the Internet and in the US media had it that quarterback Tom Brady had taken the final step and proposed to Brazilian supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bundchen. Not so, his family is now saying, speaking to the media and denying the rumors to the left and right.

Speaking to the Boston Globe, Tom Brady Sr., Tom’s father, denied the romantic proposal ever took place. “[It’s a] rumor, rumor, rumor... We don’t know a thing about it. Nobody told me. We talked to him and there’s nothing to say.” the star’s father revealed. In an email to various publications, Tom’s twin sister, Patricia, sticks to the same story – the engagement does not exist.

People magazine contacted the spokesperson for Patriots but here too there was little luck to be had. “I heard the report that he [proposed] on a plane, but I don’t think it’s true.” he said, adding, “Tom keeps his private life private.” The same media outlet indicates that, only hours after the initial report got out, the couple was spotted strolling around town and there was no engagement ring in sight on the model’s hand.

With all these denials, several tabs are suggesting that, since they come mainly from the alleged future groom’s side, this could be nothing but just a ploy to keep the engagement under wraps – or, more specifically, a means of damage control as word of it is already out in the papers. It could be that Tom’s parents are upset that he chose to pop the question in the presence of Gisele’s folks and not of theirs, bad mouths are implying.

As reported the other day, the presumed proposal in marriage took place on Christmas eve, on board of a private jet en route to Boston. Lots of flowers, champagne and a diamond ring set the scene for Gisele to say yes to Tom, in the presence of her parents, who were also the first to congratulate the future newlyweds, reports said.
