Last night at the Brit Awards, the Girls Aloud got their first award of the kind. On the same special occasion, the girls toned down their enthusiasm a bit to announce they had been asked to perform and were doing everything in their power to do so at the wedding of dying reality star Jade Goody over the weekend. Jade, it seems, specifically asked for them.

“We have had contact from Jade’s people about performing at her wedding. It’s now in the hands of our management. We are desperately trying to re-arrange our schedule so we can do it. It’s a very sad thing to have to discuss.” Sarah Harding told the media at the event. Other reports are saying, at the same time, that the group is this close to confirming the participation in the wedding, even if the offer was made in too short a time.

Jade Goody, well known in the UK for her fiery temper and the celebrity feuds she often engages in, has been diagnosed with cancer and has been told she only has weeks to live. She has decided to marry her longtime boyfriend in an intimate but glitzy ceremony that will take place this Sunday, and that will bring her £1.5 million in exclusivity deals, money that she intents to leave to her two children once she passes away.

“She adores Girls Aloud and this would really make her big day if they would do it.” Phil Gould, associate editor at OK! magazine, reveals for the Daily Star. At the same time, the British media informs, 22-year-old Jack Tweed, Jade’s boyfriend, says he is doing his best to make sure Jade gets to see all her wishes come true before the time comes, and that includes walking down the aisle.

“I’ve got things to say, like how proud I am of her and what she’s achieved and everything, and obviously how beautiful she looks.” Jack says of the speech he’s supposed to make at the wedding. As for Jade’s health, he will carry her in his arms if that’s what it takes. “Because she wasn’t well the other day and I thought what happens if she has a bad day at the wedding, but then I just thought no, I know she’s going to be all right for it. Even if I have to carry or drag her down there, she’ll be down that aisle. Even in that hospital bed, I’ll wheel the hospital bed down there.” he concludes by saying.
