The Girls Aloud are done, for good this time. After a well-received comeback arena tour, the band has announced the decision to call it quits on Twitter.

In other words, if you were hoping they’d stick around for a while longer, you’re in for major disappointment.

“Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade,” the Girls write.

“It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots,” they add.

Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts were reunited after a long “hiatus” last year for a Greatest Hits album and the tour. Fans never stopped hoping they would be around for a while longer.
