Chinese company Gionee has just confirmed software updates for a few of its Android smartphones, which will be rolled out in the next couple of days.

Unfortunately, these software updates won't change the version of Android the smartphones run, instead they will add some improvements and bug fixes, but also a few new features.

But let's see what Gionee smartphones will be updated in the next few days. The high-end Gionee Elife E7 should receive a small update soon, which will address a crash random issue with a few applications included in the smartphone.

In addition, the update should address a random phone restart issue that many Gionee Elife E7 owners complained about. These are the only changes included in this update, but the other two updates have larger changelogs.

Gionee GPAD G5 phablet will be getting a software update soon as well, which should address an issue with the Junk character in incoming Call UI.

The updates should be available in the coming days

Also, after installing the update, users should be able to change the fonts as they wish. Three pre-installed fonts will be included, but more can be downloaded.

The update should also allow Gionee GPAD G5 owners to create any groovy playlist with the updated music player. A new lock screen widget will be added, as well as the option to manage notifications from apps with the help of a new feature called Information Management System.

With the Hide app feature, users will be able to hide the applications they want to remain confidential from others.

Last but not least, some applications have been updated: Gionee Xender, Gamezone, WPS Office, NQ security, Amigo Paper, Saavn, Boyaa Texas Poker, UC Browser, WeChat.

The third Gionee smartphone to be updated, CTRL V6L should get a fix for roaming icon issue that doesn't show in the network. A WhatsApp notification issue and some Lock/Unlock sound and soft key sound while in call problems have been addressed as well.
