Chinese OEM Gionee has just released another budget-friendly Android smartphone in India, the M2. The device is now available for purchase via multiple online retailers for only Rs 11,123 ($175 / €130) outright.

According to fonearena, Gionee M2 is available in both black and white color options. The most intriguing fact about the M2 is the capacity of its battery.

That’s probably one of the smartphone’s selling points as well, as the smartphone has been confirmed to be powered by a huge 4,200 mAh battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 555 hours of standby time or up to 31.5 hours of talk time (24 hours in 3G mode).

It is also worth mentioning the Gionee M2 will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is not that bad considering the phone’s price tag.

On the inside, the device is equipped with a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 processor, a Mali 400 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The M2 packs only 4GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card. As expected, the M2 offers Indian customers dual-SIM support (GSM / GSM), so they will be able to fit in two SIM cards instead of one.

Aside from the huge battery and decent quad-core processor, Gionee M2 offers users a rather disappointing 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 854 x 480 pixels resolution.

The good news is the smartphone packs an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front.

Other highlights of the Gionee M2 include: 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 3.5mm audio jack, Radio FM, GPS with A-GPS support, along with proximity sensor, light sensor, G-sensor as well as E-compass.
