Chinese mobile phone maker Gionee is reportedly preparing the launch of a new smartphone in its Elife lineup, namely the Gionee Elife E7, and should do so on November 26.

The new handset is expected to become official during an event set to take place at the Shanghai Film Museum, and should prove to be one of the most powerful devices from the company.

According to a Weibo post from Gionee’s CEO Lu Weibing, Elife E7 will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8974AC processor inside, clocked in at 2.5 GHz, faster than the 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 MSM8974A CPU found in Xiaomi Mi3.

Apparently, this will be the first smartphone in the world to include the new mobile processor inside, though other similar devices should emerge soon after.

In fact, recent reports have suggested that the same processor could power the very first CyanogenMod smartphone out there, which might be developed in collaboration with Chinese maker Oppo.

As for the Gionee Elife E7, an official confirmation on its specifications hasn’t been provided as of now, though some of the previous reports did bring to the web details on what it might feature in terms of hardware.

Apparently, Gionee could pack it with a 6.1-inch GIZO screen from Sharp, which is expected to deliver a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution, with a pixel density of up to 498ppi, a recent report from fonearena unveils.

On the back, the new device should feature a 13-megapixel camera, supposedly paired with a 5MP front camera to allow video calling on the go. A fingerprint sensor is also said to be included on the rear cover of the phone.

Elife E7 might arrive on the market with 2GB of RAM inside, as well as with a 3500 mAh battery. Furthermore, the smartphone is expected to run under Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, with the vendor’s Amigo UI loaded on top.

Gionee hasn’t offered exact details on the mobile phone’s pricing as of now, but did suggest that it could go for around 3,299 Yuan ($541 / €403). More on this will be unveiled in roughly two weeks, so stay tuned to learn the news.
