Owners of a Motorola ATRIX smartphone living in the UK will soon be able to download and install a new OS version on their devices, some of the latest reports around the Internet suggest.

Apparently, Motorola has already committed to deliver the OS upgrade for these devices in mid-November, provide that all will go according to plan.

For those out of the loop, we should note that users of a Motorola ATRIX that live in the Untied States or in Canada have already had the chance to download and install the new OS flavor on their devices.

Both AT&T in the US and Bell in Canada pushed the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform flavor to their phones, but users in other markets have been left with the Android 2.2 Froyo OS on their devices so far.

However, it appears that all that should change for ATRIX users in the UK in about one month from now.

The owners of a Motorola Milestone 2 smartphone living in the UK should also get a taste of a new platform iteration on their devices, it seems.

According to Eurodroid, Motorola committed to the delivery of Gingerbread for this mobile phone as well, and also announced that they will be releasing the Android 3.2 update for the Motorola XOOM soon.

Here's what the company reportedly stated on the matter:

Many of you are eagerly awaiting the 2.3 upgrade for Motorola ATRIX and Motorola Milestone 2; as well as 3.2 for Motorola XOOM and we’re pressing ahead to get the new software ready.

Due to some additional fixes that needed to be made, we’re now working towards releasing the software for Motorola XOOM at the end of October and for Motorola ATRIX and Milestone 2 in mid-November. We will let you know as soon as we are able to make the software available to you.

There you have it. XOOM users will be tasting the new software for them soon, while those ATRIX and Milestone 2 users will have to wait a few weeks longer before that happens.
