HTC ThunderBolt, the first Android-based mobile phone that Verizon and HTC made available for purchase with support for the wireless carrier's LTE network, might soon get a taste of the Gingerbread OS flavor, the Taiwanese mobile phone maker has just confirmed.

When asked on Twitter when the new flavor of the operating system is set to become available for download, HTC responded that this will happen soon.

“VZW & HTC anticipate the update being available soon. You will be notified directly on your device when it is ready to d'load,” the handset vendor said.

Gingerbread started to arrive on ThunderBolt devices in September, but various issues with it determined Verizon and HTC to pull the plug on it. However, it appears that issues might have been solved, and that the OS flavor could arrive on devices in the near future.
