14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese manufacturer Huawei is about to release the long-awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread for its U8800 Ideos X5 smartphone.
Huawei Ideos X5 was launched in the market in December 2010 with Android 2.2 Froyo on board, but Huawei confirmed earlier this year that the smartphone would receive the Gingerbread upgrade.
Although a certain Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is now available for download from its support site, it looks like Huawei is not yet ready to deliver the upgrade.
It appears that this is just the beta version of the update, which is aimed at those who want to test it ahead of the official launch. The file size is 192.33MB and was loaded on the site today.
