Even as it gets more and more saturated, the slate market seems to continuously attract new players hoping to grab a slice of the tasty tablet pie.

Gigaset doesn’t seem to fear the ruthless completion between tablet manufacturers, so it jumps head first with two new tablet offerings, which are reportedly part of the widening “Gigaset 2015” strategy.

“Gigaset stands for communication! We have done so for year with our premium DECT phones or recently with our connected living system Gigaset elements and the SL930A full-touch Android phone.”

“And soon we’ll be following that up with two high-quality tablets that underscore our mission to deliver first class communication tools for the networked home, too,” explains Gigaset CEO Charles Franonkl.

Nevertheless, it remains a mystery why the company has chosen such uninspiring names for their first attempt to take on the tablet market. Meet the Gigaset QV830 and QV1030 (something that can be easily forgotten, if you ask us) models, which feature an 8-inch and 10-inch screen, respectively.

The smaller slate comes sporting an appealing look that consists of anodized aluminum rear shell and a meticulous finish that will surely catch tableters’ eyes. The company says the slate is perfect for “surfing, shopping, chatting, checking e-mails and a thousand other things that apps from Google Play enable.”

Gigaset says that the slate supports a super-fast Wi-Fi connection and two very capable cameras (5MP autofocus camera rear camera, 1.2MP front snapper.)

As for the 10-incher, it comes boasting an impressive resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, so movies, photos and games will be beautifully displayed on its screen. Gigaset has added a quad-core processor (1.8GHz NVIDIA T40S Cortex A15) here and two cameras (8MP rear one with dual-LED flash and 1.2MP frontal one.)

Gigaset will offer the two slates starting this December. The QV830 is offered at a recommended price of €199 / $271, while the QV1030 will sell for €369 / $502.
